The Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) is a not-for-profit organisation with the mission to study and recommend ways to harmonise medical device regulations worldwide. Together with the Global Harmonisation Task Force, APEC and other international organisations, it works to create harmonised requirements, procedures and standards. 

For the 26th time, the working group consisting of experts from medical device regulatory authorities and the medical device industry will meet during the GHWP Annual General Meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 13 to 16 February. Membership and also participation in this event is open to all representatives from around the world who support the above objectives.

As one of the world's leading certification bodies, DQS supports this initiative. 

Michael Bothe, Head of the Notified Body Active Medical Devices at DQS Medizinprodukte GmbH, will speak to a broad audience on the topic of "Cyber Security Standard Development".

He will also answer the questions of the participants from the perspective of a Notified Body in the panel discussion "Digital Transformation and Connected Care in the Hospital".

Michael Bothe is Head of the Notified Body for Active Medical Devices and is also a lead auditor. He is also involved in standardization at the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the German Commission for Electrotechnical, Electronic & Information Technologies (DKE) and coordinates continuing education activities for customers.
