DQS statement regarding the war in Ukraine and DQS business in Russia and Belarus

The devastating war in Ukraine is a human tragedy, and our deepest empathy and concerns are with all those who are feeling its effects and are suffering personal hardship. DQS cannot accept a war as an answer to a political conflict and continues to hope for a cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomacy. We back all efforts undertaken by the international community to protect people and reach a solution restoring security and compliance with international law.

DQS strives to maintain the integrity of our services to the society by assuring ethical business practices within our organization, demonstrating our values and complying with legal requirements.

Therefore, and in view of the ongoing Russian attacks, the Board of Management of DQS Holding has decided to halt any new business with companies located in the Russian Federation, Belarus, the Ukrainian areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and any other occupied region until further notice and with immediate effect.  This decision applies to all operational DQS entities and business partners worldwide.

Following the Russian invasion, Germany, EU, US, and many other governments responded by adopting a package of sanctions and restrictive measures, towards people and entities. Although our services are not explicitly affected, DQS has also decided since the beginning of the war, not to continue business with any companies listed on the respective sanction lists. Existing certificates will be suspended immediately and existing business relation will be terminated as soon as possible. In addition, DQS is committed to comply with all rules and decisions defined by the relevant accreditation bodies and program owners.

For other organizations, not affected by the sanctions, DQS will fulfill existing contractual obligations and provide its services until the expiration of certificates already issued unless no other restriction imposed by accreditation or program owners apply.

By largely suspending its activities in Russia, DQS is responding to the overall situation, which is characterized by human tragedies and significant uncertainty and disruption.
