If you’re looking to learn more about ISO/IEC 27001, whether you are unfamiliar with the standard or a stakeholder for your company, the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Executive Overview course is highly recommended. With the upcoming release of the DQS Academy ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Update Course, now is the time to get a basis of the current course to better understand the changes within the update to the 2022 revision.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Executive Overview course starts with the Instructor Led Session which goes over the main points within the standard and a high level review of what these points concern. The instructor will go through who is involved, such as what commitments are required from leadership, or through documents that are required for auditing. Since ISO 27001 is in a transition period between the 2013 version and 2022 version, the instructor may hit on points where there have been changes in the new 2022 version of the standard.

Each instructor will have a different way of presenting the content while making sure that each attendee is able to understand and/or ask questions throughout, whether it’s through humor or using quotes to make the environment feel more open and friendly. Every instructor has real world experience either in an information security role, as an auditor, or both. They understand each standard and how it interacts with each level of business, whether someone is in IT or not. And not only are you being taught about the standard, but attendees are also given the opportunity to speak and share their backgrounds and experience.

Who should attend?

This course is built for any level of familiarity with the standard. Those who attend may have no experience, some experience with another ISO/IEC standard (such as 9001), or know about ISO/IEC 27001 but want to learn more. The Executive Overview course would be the best fit for stakeholders and those who may not work very directly with the standard. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Implementation or Internal Auditor may be better fit courses for those needing a higher level of training with the standard.

Once the Instructor Led session is complete, the attendees will be able to access the post-course exam to receive a certificate of completion for the course. This certificate has no expiration date and will be able to be used indefinitely as well as be posted to LinkedIn on your profile. There is also a survey that can be completed to aid in future offerings for DQS Academy. Each survey gives feedback that can be used to not only develop new course offerings but to also shape our current offerings to best fit the needs of those attending.
