When you interact with a brand, whether it’s through the brand’s website or social media, typically, you aren’t thinking about who is designing or writing what you see in front of you. But in this blog, we’re going to take a look at the professionals who put together what you see for the US and Canada for DQS: the Marketing Team.

What does marketing do? Many may think they scroll through social media all day or play around on Canva, however, it takes data, research, and brand familiarity to get a marketing job done. So, what is Marketing?

According to the American Marketing Association (AMA):

“Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. (Approved 2017)”

In other words, activities that take a brand, company, organization, etc. and put it directly in front of the consumer, client, partner, etc. through different mediums to gain interest and intention to purchase/work with the organization. There are many ways of doing this, whether it’s through email, social media, print ads, banner ads, and more. And it takes research to determine how to best target your intended audience, whether it’s in the B2C (business to consumer) or B2B (business to business) space and using data to better shape your marketing strategy.

When it comes to your business and your marketing strategy and activities, how could a certification supplement your current work? Adding a new certification will provide a new marketing campaign to let your current and potential customers know about your latest achievement. Obtaining a new certification, whether ISO 9001 or ISO 27001, is a large achievement that takes full organizational buy-in to achieve. Providing content related to the certification, such as ads related to your new information security measures or blogs related to how employee motivation and buy-in has increased after certification shows how your business is continuously working towards improvement and innovation.

Now that marketing has been outlined and have some idea of what marketing works with, let’s learn more about those who work within marketing at DQS Inc. and what they regularly work with.

Robyn Daiss, Marketing Specialist:

As Marketing Specialist, I work directly with departments such as Sustainability and Medical Devices to aid in their marketing efforts whether through email, blog posts, or designing white papers. I love to learn and enjoy doing research to write blog posts and figure out ways where DQS can stand out in each market. I also enjoy designing and spending time putting together social media post designs, flyers, or white papers; being able to use my creativity and think of new ways to market standard products is what makes marketing interesting to me.

Brooke Baker, Marketing Coordinator:

In my role as a Marketing Coordinator, my primary focus is on social media management and SEO strategies for our US market. A typical day involves creating graphics and descriptions for our social calendar, alongside conducting keyword research, running page audits, and refining our site content for optimization. While these are some of the main tasks involved in my daily routine, the dynamic nature of the role also comes with fresh challenges and varied tasks, allowing me to mix things up. I enjoy being able to utilize a mix of analytical and creative skills, continually seeking new approaches to enhance digital marketing efforts at DQS.

Sara Gulo, Marketing Manager:

As Marketing Manager, I oversee all marketing activities for the US and collaborate with the global team on products and strategies. I enjoy the exchange of ideas between all of our offices and finding and using the latest technology for our systems.

Thank you to the Marketing team for taking the time to write about themselves and their positions. Next time you see a post or email from DQS, it may have been designed by a member of the Marketing team. Impressed by what you see? Want to look more into what DQS offers?
