IFS HPC version 3 is scheduled for release in March 2022. Below we have summarized all available information on the schedule and planned changes for you.

Published in 2009, the IFS Household and Personal Care (HPC) standard was developed in collaboration with numerous European retailers and trade associations. The standard enables manufacturers and suppliers to be assessed on product safety and hygiene. A second version of the standard was published in 2016. Version 3 is scheduled for release in March 2022.

Changes in version 3

Version 3 of the IFS HPC standard is expected to be harmonized with the ISO 22716 standard for cosmetics GMP. Among the anticipated changes in Version 3 is that unannounced audits will become mandatory. The use of the unannounced audit option will be mandatory every three years. Other changes are not yet known.

From version 2 to version 3: Transition period

Currently, version 2 of the IFS HPC standard is in effect. IFS HPC version 3 is expected to be released in March 2022. 10 months after publication, its application will become mandatory. After publication, the standard will be available on the IFS website.
