Issue 5: The Next Edition of the BRCGS Standard for Consumer Products
The BRCGS Global Standard for Consumer Products is being revised: Issue 5 is due for publication on 13 October 2026, replacing Issue 4, which has been in place since 2016. The standard is used by more than 1,000 manufacturers in over 45 countries to demonstrate product safety, legality and quality across the consumer products supply chain.
For manufacturing sites, Issue 5 provides a clear, consistent way to demonstrate product safety, legality and quality, replacing costly second-party audits with a single independent assessment. This reduces audit burden, supports retailer requirements and improves market access. For retailers, brands and specifiers, certification provides independent, accredited confirmation that supplier sites meet recognised expectations – supporting informed supplier approval and stronger oversight of the supply chain.
In this webinar, we explain what will actually change with Issue 5, which transition timelines apply, and how certificated sites can prepare in a targeted way.
What to Expect From the Webinar (Key Points)
- Key changes in Issue 5: What changes structurally and in content compared to Issue 4?
