What is TISAX®?

TISAX® (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is a security standard for the automotive industry. It ensures that companies handling sensitive information—like prototypes, development data, or personal data—meet high information security requirements.

It’s based on ISO 27001 but specifically tailored for the automotive supply chain. TISAX® was developed by the German automotive industry (VDA) and is operated by ENX Association.

Why does it matter?

1. Required by major automotive brands

If you work with big OEMs (like Daimler, Honda, and Hyundai), they require TISAX® certification.

2. Standardizes security expectations

Instead of each client doing their own audits, TISAX® provides a single, recognized assessment you can share with multiple partners.

3. Reduces risks

It helps protect intellectual property, prototypes, customer data, and production processes from leaks, breaches, or cyberattacks.

4. Saves time and money

Avoids repeated audits by different customers. Once you’re assessed, you can share your results securely through the TISAX® portal.
