The materiality analysis is an indispensable method for an organization to identify its essential sustainability topics and stakeholders with their requirements and expectations. Virtually all major formats for CSR reporting work with materiality and recommend this form of risk analysis. But only the EU’s CSR Directive makes the method mandatory. The ISO management system standards also take up the subject, but with different terminology.
