In South Africa, fishing is meticulously regulated by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (DAFF). This precious resource is under constant care, with Lucky Star actively participating in the Responsible Fisheries Alliance. They adhere to strict annual fishing quotas, ensuring that every part of the fish is utilised efficiently, leaving nothing to waste. 

To ensure a steady supply of South Africa's favourite canned fish, Lucky Star supplements local fish with pelagic fish of the same species sourced from fisheries worldwide. This is done following a stringent processing protocol, guaranteeing consistent quality and building trust in the Lucky Star brand. This sustainable approach not only maintains the availability of delicious Lucky Star meals but also safeguards the future by sourcing products from areas where fish populations are not at risk.
