The ISO 37001 standard, published in October 2016, is designed to assist organidations in implementing and maintaining a proactive anti-bribery system. This standard, which replaced the British Standard 10500, outlines a set of requirements that embody globally recognised best practices for anti-bribery. It addresses both bribery by the organisation and bribery of the organisation. Implementing a system in accordance with the standard significantly reduces the risk of malpractice by establishing control points where necessary. Moreover, ISO 37001 not only emphasises the prevention of bribery but also focuses on dealing with it effectively should it occur.
