Management Summary

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), a game changer in the world of corporate sustainability, has been effective since January 5, 2023. It mandates stringent sustainability reporting for large EU companies and listed SMEs, aligning them with global sustainability standards.

The regulation will be rolled out over the course of three years and requires companies to initiate sustainability reporting by January 1st, 2024. Companies must also submit their initial reports by December 31st, 2025. CSRD is not only applicable to EU related organizations but also extends to US companies that are listed on EU regulated markets or those with subsidiaries. This directive makes a shift towards more transparent and sustainable business practices, making it crucial to understand and comply with.
