To date, little information is available on BRCGS Food Safety Standard Version 9. Version 8, published in August 2018, is the current valid version. BRCGS Food Safety Standard Version 9 is expected to be released in August 2022. As information about the changes in the new version becomes available, we will summarize it for you here. Published in 1998, the BRCGS food safety standard was developed in collaboration with numerous European retailers and trade associations. The standard allows manufacturers and suppliers to be evaluated on food safety and quality. Version 8 of the standard was released in the summer of 2018. BRCGS Food Safety Standard version 9 is expected to be published in August 2022.

Changes in Version 9

It is anticipated that version 9 of the BRCGS Food Safety Standard will meet the GFSI recognition criteria. However, no information is yet available on the specific changes. We will update this page as the revision progresses.

From version 8 to version 9: transition period

Version 8 of the BRCGS Food Safety Standard is currently in effect. Version 9 is expected to be released in August 2022. Audits under the new version are expected to start in February 2023. Once published, the standard will be available on the BRCGS website.
